Prof. Sharkov made the remarks on May 28, 2026, when he visited the MNH exhibition booth during the Dental Expo 2026 held at Mlimani City grounds in Dar es Salaam.

He expressed satisfaction after observing the range of specialist dental services offered by the hospital, as well as the use of modern technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of oral health conditions.

He noted that Muhimbili has made remarkable strides in strengthening oral healthcare services through improved equipment, skilled professionals, and expanded access to specialized and super-specialized treatment.

According to him, these developments reflect global efforts to improve dental health systems and ensure patients receive high-quality and timely care.

The Dental Expo 2026 has brought together key stakeholders in the oral and dental health sector, including professionals, institutions, researchers, and technology providers, to showcase innovations and discuss the future of dental care.

The three-day event focuses on advancing knowledge, sharing expertise, and promoting the adoption of modern technologies in dental diagnosis, prevention, and treatment.

At the MNH booth, visitors are receiving oral health education, dental screening services, and awareness sessions on the prevention of common dental diseases.

The hospital is also showcasing its specialized and super-specialized dental services, which form part of its role as a national referral and teaching hospital.

Health experts at the MNH stand are engaging members of the public on proper oral hygiene practices, early detection of dental problems, and the importance of regular dental check-ups.

The initiative aims to reduce the burden of oral diseases, which continue to affect a significant portion of the population.
