A total of 15 teams have so far confirmed their participation in the First Division Netball League, which is set to take place from June 5 to June 17 this year at the University of Dodoma (UDOM) courts.

The announcement was made on May 26, 2026, to The Respondent Online by the Chairperson of the Technical Committee of the Tanzania Netball Association (CHANETA), Rambi Halifa, who said preparations for the tournament are progressing well as the governing body works to ensure a well-organized and highly competitive event.

Halifa said that while 15 teams have already completed confirmation, six teams out of the expected 21 are still finalizing their participation process.

He noted that the teams are required to complete registration, including payment of the participation fee of 800,000 shillings.

He added that the deadline for confirmation remains May 29, 2026, urging the remaining teams to complete the process on time to secure their places in the competition.

“Preparations are going on well to ensure the league is conducted in a professional manner and delivers strong competition,” said Halifa.

He further emphasized that CHANETA is committed to ensuring the league is staged under improved conditions that will help raise the standard of netball in the country.

He said the competition will also provide an important platform for players to showcase their talent and strengthen their careers in the sport.

The tournament is expected to attract intense competition as teams battle for recognition and possible promotion within the national netball structure.
