Fire and Rescue force in Bahi District receives new Rescue Machine

On behalf of the Dodoma Regional Fire and Rescue Commander, ASF P. J. Mwambene officially handed over a new rescue machine to the Bahi District Fire Officer, A/Insp Mussa Msengi, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of the Fire and Rescue Force in responding to disasters, including road traffic accidents.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, ASF Peter Mwambene stated that the new equipment will enhance the delivery of high-quality and timely emergency services in Bahi District and neighboring areas, including parts of Manyoni District, which are in close proximity.

He emphasized the importance of professionalism in operating the equipment and urged officers to ensure proper maintenance so that it can serve the community effectively for a long time.

On his part, A/Insp Mussa Msengi expressed gratitude to the regional leadership under SSF Rehema J. Menda for providing the machine to Bahi District. He pledged to take good care of it and use it effectively in saving lives and protecting property, as well as strengthening prevention and preparedness efforts against disasters.

The District Security Committee was represented at the event by several members, including Acting District Administrative Secretary (DAS) Subiri L. Kajuni, DBC Theopster Tembo, ASP Luka J. Ketto (representing the OCD), Nasir Mwasema (representing the DSO), and Kudra Kitabuge from the Primary Education Department of the Bahi District Council.

In his remarks, the Acting DAS thanked the government for providing the rescue machine, noting that the district has received it with great appreciation. He assured that the District Commissioner’s Office will collaborate with the District Fire Office to ensure proper maintenance for long-term use, highlighting it as a significant boost to district safety.

Meanwhile, the Bahi District TAKUKURU Head, Teopister Tembo, expressed gratitude to God for the arrival of the machine, noting that it will improve operational efficiency within the Fire and Rescue Force by enabling faster response to emergency situations.

Similarly, ASP Luka J. Ketto commended the initiative, stating that the equipment will bring relief to residents and travelers in Bahi, especially considering the district is served by a major highway used by both local and international transport.

Additional appreciation was expressed by Mr. Kudra Kitabuge from the Primary Education Department, who described the new machine as a major opportunity for the district, enabling faster and more efficient rescue services for citizens and their property.

The Fire and Rescue Force’s current mission is to improve infrastructure and modern equipment to ensure a higher level of public safety.

This development marks an initial step, with further plans underway under the leadership of the Commissioner General of the Fire and Rescue Force, J. W. Masunga.

These plans include the construction of a district-level fire station, acquisition of additional equipment, and recruitment of more personnel to ensure continuous safety.

After the handover, the District Security Officer (DSO), Anastazia M. Sumawe, also had the opportunity to inspect the machine. 

She commended the government for this step and praised the District Fire Officer, the Regional Commander, and the Fire and Rescue Force leadership for their continued efforts.

Overall, all members expressed their appreciation to the Sixth Phase Government led by Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, for its strong support toward the Fire and Rescue Force and other sectors.

The event also received blessings from the Bahi District Commissioner, Hon. Joacim Nyingo, who was unable to attend due to other commitments but conveyed his full support and gratitude for the arrival of the rescue machine.
