The Dar es Salaam Regional Volleyball Association (DAREVA) League Board has outlined a series of improvements aimed at enhancing the quality, competitiveness, and overall management of the second round of the ongoing league.
Speaking on the preparations, DAREVA Board Chairman Peter Kahwaa said the planned reforms will focus on refining league regulations, improving team performance standards, and strengthening the management and conduct of match officials.
He said the objective is to minimize minor errors observed during the first round of the competition and ensure that all matches are conducted in full compliance with established rules and procedures.
“In the second round, the board will introduce improvements in the regulations to reduce small mistakes by teams and also ensure that referees and officials perform their duties more effectively,” said Kahwaa.
He added that strengthening discipline and consistency in the application of rules will not only improve fairness in competition but also raise the overall quality of the league.
Kahwaa further noted that DAREVA is also working on increasing the league’s attractiveness to fans, as volleyball continues to grow in popularity across Tanzania.
According to him, better organization and improved officiating are expected to make matches more exciting and encourage greater attendance from supporters.
He said the reforms form part of a broader strategy to promote the development of volleyball in the region by making the league more professional, competitive, and engaging for both players and spectators.
The second round of the league is expected to be more competitive, with teams anticipated to adapt to the new improvements and raise their level of performance.
