Dar City still has a shot in BAL

By Victoria Godfrey

Despite a heavy loss to Al Ahly, former basketball player and coach Bahati Mgunda believes Dar City still has a solid chance to advance in the Basketball Africa League (BAL).

Dar City fell 118-97 in their third match of the ongoing tournament in Pretoria, South Africa.

Speaking after the game, Mgunda said the team can still move forward if they focus and perform well in the remaining matches.

“They still have a chance. Winning just one more game could guarantee their place in the next stage,” he said.

Mgunda emphasized that players must treat every match as if it were a final.

“That kind of mindset is critical at this level of competition, and we saw the difference in the game they lost,” he added.

He also urged confidence in the coaching staff, noting their expertise can guide the team to better results.

Dar City will face Petro de Luanda on April 3 in their fourth BAL game.

So far, the team has played three matches, winning two and losing one.
