Azam FC triumphs 2-1 over Singida Black Stars in thrilling encounter

Azam FC emerged victorious with a 2-1 win against Singida Black Stars in a Tanzania Mainland Premier League (NBC Tanzania Bara) clash played today, April 1, 2026, at Airtel Stadium in Singida. The win boosts Azam’s momentum as the league enters a critical phase.

The first half was an intense battle, with both teams pressing high and creating opportunities. Despite their efforts, neither side could break the deadlock, and the match went into halftime level at 0-0.

Azam FC came out stronger after the break, and in the 50th minute, Lusajo Mwaikenda slotted home a precise finish to give his side the lead. 

The team maintained control, and in the 64th minute, Feisal Salum added a second, expertly converting a fast counterattack following a sharp pass from Idd Nado.

Singida Black Stars responded with determination, pulling a goal back in the 71st minute through Ayoub Lyanga. However, despite applying pressure, they could not find an equalizer.

Azam FC held firm until the final whistle, securing all three points in a display of tactical discipline and attacking flair. The victory strengthens their campaign and sends a clear message to league rivals.
