The TUFANIKISHE PAMOJA group has participated in a communal Iftar with about 150 orphans in Dar es Salaam, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen social solidarity and support vulnerable groups during the holy month of Ramadan.

The event brought together members of the group, various stakeholders, and the orphans in an atmosphere filled with joy and compassion, aiming to comfort the children and make them feel valued as part of a caring community.

Speaking during the event on behalf of the group, Mr. Lookman Miraji said that TUFANIKISHE PAMOJA’s participation in the Iftar was part of the group’s continued commitment to giving back to the community in line with its guiding principles and core objectives.

Mr. Miraji explained that supporting vulnerable groups, especially orphans, is an important step in building a society founded on humanity, unity, and compassion among citizens.

“Our participation in this Iftar is part of our group’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community. We believe that true development of society comes from solidarity and caring for the well-being of all people, especially those in need,” said Miraji.

He also called upon organizations, institutions, and individuals to take a more active role in social initiatives and charitable support for vulnerable groups, noting that such efforts are vital in building good relationships and strengthening unity among Tanzanians.

He added that events like these not only provide food assistance to orphans but also offer emotional comfort by making them feel appreciated and accepted within society.

According to social development analysts, community initiatives such as shared Iftar gatherings, particularly with orphans, play a significant role in strengthening social cohesion by bringing together people from different backgrounds and encouraging a culture of compassion and mutual support.

They also provide an important opportunity to give orphans a sense of joy and hope by helping them feel that they are part of a larger community family, which contributes positively to their psychological and social well-being.

On the other hand, such activities offer groups and institutions a platform to demonstrate social responsibility by directly participating in supporting those in need.

Overall, the event has been viewed as a good example of how community groups can collaborate with society to create positive change, while sending a clear message that solidarity, compassion, and the spirit of volunteerism are key pillars in building a united and progressive society.
