The TPDF Women’s handball team claimed the Mapinduzi Cup title with an impressive 2-0 victory over Twende Foundation, while the men’s team fell short, finishing second after a 3-0 defeat to Moshi Khalsa.
In a showcase of skill and determination, TPDF Ladies dominated the women’s final, ensuring the championship trophy remained in their hands.
The men’s final, however, saw Moshi Khalsa assert their dominance to lift the trophy.
TPDF Head Coach, Ally Kondo, described the tournament as fiercely competitive, noting that every team arrived well-prepared.
He credited the women’s team’s preparation for their success, while acknowledging the men’s team had been unlucky not to secure the title.
“We will return to the training ground, refine our strategies, and aim for even better results in future tournaments,” Kondo said.
The Mapinduzi Cup featured seven teams in total—two women’s teams and five men’s—offering a platform for high-level handball competition and giving teams the opportunity to showcase their skills in the region.
