The Tanzania Trade Development Authority has provided business and marketing training to members of the Tanzania Muslim Women’s Association in an initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs with skills to start, manage and expand their businesses.
The training, held in Dar es Salaam on March 10, 2026, focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of entrepreneurship, market access and business management, while encouraging them to take advantage of opportunities available in national and international trade platforms.
During the session, TanTrade experts also sensitised the participants on the importance of participating in the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, one of the country’s largest trade exhibitions that brings together local and international businesses every year.
Participants were further introduced to the Made in Tanzania brand, a national initiative that promotes locally produced goods in domestic and global markets.
They were also trained on the use of electronic platforms that provide market information, enabling entrepreneurs to access data on potential buyers, trends and export opportunities.
The Tanzania Muslim Women’s Association chairperson, Shamim Khan, commended TanTrade Director General Latifa Khamis for facilitating the training and sending experts to guide women entrepreneurs on improving their business knowledge.
She said the initiative demonstrates TanTrade’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of entrepreneurs and enhancing the competitiveness of Tanzanian products in regional and international markets.
Ms Khan noted that equipping women with entrepreneurship and marketing skills will help them expand their businesses and play a greater role in the country’s economic growth.
The training forms part of ongoing efforts by TanTrade to promote entrepreneurship, increase the visibility of Tanzanian products and support local businesses to access wider markets through knowledge sharing and capacity building initiatives.
