The Regional Commissioner (RC) of Arusha, CPA Amos Gabriel Makalla, was presented with a jersey of TRA United, the football team competing in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League.
The handover took place on Monday, March 9, 2026, at the RC’s office in Arusha. The jersey was officially handed over by the Arusha Regional Manager of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Deogratius Shuma.
During the event, RC Makalla praised TRA United for consistently performing well in their matches and demonstrating strong competitiveness in the Premier League.
He emphasized the importance of the team continuing to fight and win its games while noting that it should maintain its independence and not become a branch of any other top-tier team.
RC Makalla also pledged continued support for TRA United, highlighting that President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s government is investing in the development of sports infrastructure across Arusha.
He noted that the completion of these facilities would provide more opportunities for the team to remain in the Premier League while promoting Arusha Region and its tourism sector.
Speaking during the handover, Shuma said the presentation of the jersey was part of TRA’s commitment when the team was received in the region.
He was accompanied by several TRA United officials, including the team’s spokesperson, Christina Mwagala.
