The Minister for Home Affairs, Patrobas Katambi, has presented a report on the implementation of the ministry’s budget for the 2025/2026 financial year and the proposed revenue and expenditure estimates for the 2026/2027 financial year.

Katambi submitted the report to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security during a session held at the Herman Stewart Hall in Parliament in Dodoma.

The minister presented the performance report covering institutions under the Ministry of Home Affairs, including the Tanzania Police Force, Tanzania Prisons Service, Tanzania Immigration Department, Tanzania Fire and Rescue Force and the National Identification Authority (NIDA).

He outlined key achievements recorded during the implementation of the ministry’s programmes and activities in the current financial year while also presenting the priorities and financial requirements for the upcoming 2026/2027 budget.

The session formed part of the parliamentary oversight process in which committees examine budget performance and evaluate spending proposals from ministries before the national budget is tabled in Parliament.

Members of the committee reviewed the report and held discussions with the minister and officials from the ministry and its agencies on the progress made and plans aimed at strengthening security services and improving service delivery to citizens.
