The Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Vice President, Dkt. Richard Muyungi, has called on the contractor, Suma JKT, to accelerate the construction of the Office of the Vice President (OMR) building in the Government City, Mtumba, Dodoma.

Dkt. Muyungi made the call during an inspection of the ongoing project, accompanied by senior leaders and management, to assess the progress firsthand.

He stressed that the contractor must work round the clock to complete renovations in unfinished areas of the building.

“Our office will not extend the project timeline again. The contractor must fully utilize the remaining time to complete and hand over the building on schedule,” Dkt. Muyungi said.

He reminded the contractor that the Parliamentary Committee is expected to visit the site on March 18, 2026, highlighting the urgency of meeting the deadline.

Dkt. Muyungi noted that the office has already fulfilled all obligations to facilitate project completion, including payments to the contractor and procurement of office furniture.

He also urged the contractor to ensure the building incorporates modern infrastructure, including advanced solid waste management systems, to enhance environmental sustainability.

Responding to the directives, the project coordinator from Suma JKT, Engineer Richard Raphael, assured that the company would comply and work diligently to complete the project within the allocated timeframe.

During the visit, Dkt. Muyungi was accompanied by the Deputy Secretary-General (Union), Mr. Abdallah Hassan Mitawi, the Deputy Secretary-General (Environment), Ambassador Baraka Luvanda, and other senior management officials from the Office of the Vice President.

The OMR office building is a key component of the Government City in Mtumba, aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and providing modern facilities for the Vice President’s operations.

Completion of the project is expected to enhance service delivery and support the government’s ongoing modernization initiatives.
