Young Africans Sports Club (Yanga) claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Namungo FC in the NBC Tanzania Premier League match played on February 22 at Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi.
The only goal of the match came in the 26th minute when Depu converted a penalty, giving Yanga the lead and boosting the team’s confidence in a fiercely contested game.
Namungo fought hard to level the score, launching several attacks, but Yanga’s defense remained solid, successfully repelling every attempt.
The first half ended with Yanga maintaining their 1-0 advantage. In the second half, Namungo tried to adjust their strategy and break through Yanga’s defensive line, but their efforts proved futile.
When the referee blew the final whistle after 90 minutes, Yanga had secured all three points, an important gain in their chase for the league title.
