Vice President calls on CCM members to uphold unity and service

The Vice President of Tanzania, Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, has urged members of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) to remain committed to their core responsibility of ensuring the party continues to serve all Tanzanians and remains a trusted refuge for the people.

Dr. Nchimbi, who is also a member of the CCM National Executive Committee and the party’s Regional Patron for Dodoma, made the call while leading the celebrations of CCM’s 49th anniversary in Chemba District, Dodoma, on February 5, 2026.

He noted that after nearly five decades, Tanzanians continue to place their trust in CCM, a confidence shown through repeated electoral victories.

He emphasized that every member and leader must reflect on their actions and ensure that they contribute to the party’s development, unity, and cohesion, as well as national progress.

“Leaders at all levels from Members of Parliament and councilors to local leaders must embrace and implement CCM’s manifesto, turning the party’s vision into tangible development for our communities,” Dr. Nchimbi said.

The Vice President also called on the party to remain a model of clean politics, avoiding divisive and malicious practices, and urged members to strengthen CCM through their words and deeds.

He reminded members that CCM’s foundation lies in its people, unity, development, and service, and urged them to live by the theme of the 49th-anniversary celebrations: “We Choose Unity and Peace for Our Nation’s Development.”

Dr. Nchimbi further noted that the party must continue engaging the vulnerable and marginalized, ensuring that all Tanzanians see CCM as a true champion during difficult times.

With CCM preparing for internal elections from branch to national level in 2027, the Vice President stressed the need for members to uphold ethics, unity, solidarity, peace, and to recognize leadership as a duty of service.

During the visit, Dr. Nchimbi also toured Chemba Vocational Training College, praising the institution for its modern infrastructure and facilities that will equip students with practical skills for the workforce.

The anniversary celebrations brought together CCM leaders, Members of Parliament, and residents from across Dodoma Region.
