Tanzania’s Vice President, Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, has called on religious leaders to actively pray for the nation and its leadership, urging them to support the country in line with Biblical teachings.

Dr. Nchimbi made the call during the inauguration of the fifth-term national leadership of the Pentecostal Churches Council of Tanzania (CPTC) at Agape Life Church Hall in Mbezi Jogoo, Dar es Salaam.

Addressing church leaders, the Vice President stressed the importance of praying for President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s health, wisdom, and guidance, noting that a strong and wise President ensures national stability.

He also reminded religious leaders of their responsibility to serve the nation, their congregations, and the Church with dedication and integrity.

Dr. Nchimbi urged faith leaders to champion environmental conservation, encouraging them to educate congregants on preventing deforestation, forest fires, and destruction of water sources.

He called for efforts to promote large-scale tree planting to safeguard resources for present and future generations.

Highlighting government support for CPTC, the Vice President said President Samia had allocated 12 acres in Dodoma for the construction of the council’s new headquarters and contributed TZS 100 million to initiate the project.

He also commended the establishment of a dedicated ministry to manage state-religion relations, noting that religious institutions continue to play a vital role in social services, including education, healthcare, and child development.

Dr. Nchimbi encouraged church leaders to uphold moral values and help build a nation of honest, respectful, and patriotic citizens, emphasizing unity, integrity, and rejection of selfishness and corruption.

He assured that the government remains committed to maintaining peace and security across the country.
