The Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG), Prof Riziki Shemdoe, has met with Azania Bank Chief Executive Officer, Ms Esther Mangenya, to explore ways to work together in improving essential services for communities.
The meeting, held on February 5, 2026, at Prof Shemdoe’s office in Dodoma, focused on enhancing access to primary healthcare, basic education, road construction, and other social services that directly impact citizens’ daily lives.
Prof Shemdoe said his office recognises the critical role financial institutions can play in supporting local development.
“We are ready to work closely with Azania Bank to ensure that communities in all Local Government Authorities benefit from both government initiatives and the bank’s contributions,” he said.
Ms Mangenya said Azania Bank is committed to social responsibility, pledging support for projects that improve public services while expanding access to financial services for communities. “We want our work to make a tangible difference in people’s lives,” she added.
Since his appointment by President Samia Suluhu Hassan to oversee Local Government Authorities, Prof Shemdoe has been actively engaging development partners to strengthen collaboration.
This meeting reflects the government’s efforts to harness partnerships with the private sector to bring real improvements to citizens across the country.
