Adam Seleman, a resident of Msongora, Dar es Salaam, has called on Tanzanians to uphold love and understanding as the foundation for peace and stability in the country.
Speaking to our reporter on Saturday, February 7, 2026, Mr. Seleman stressed that peace is essential for the development and well-being of families, communities, and the nation.
He said that every society needs a peaceful environment to thrive and fulfill its responsibilities.
“True peace means having the freedom to act within the limits set by the Constitution. But peace also begins with love. When we love one another, that is real peace, starting from our homes,” he said.
“I urge all citizens to remain united and protect the harmony we enjoy, because Tanzania is a haven of peace.”he added
Mr. Seleman’s remarks highlight the critical role of social cohesion in sustaining national development. Experts say that fostering understanding and mutual respect among citizens strengthens communities, reduces conflict, and promotes economic growth.
As Tanzania continues to grow and modernize, leaders and citizens alike are being reminded that the country’s greatest asset is the unity and goodwill of its people.
Maintaining peace is not only a constitutional responsibility but also a social and moral obligation for every Tanzanian.
