Prime Minister Dkt. Mwigulu Nchemba today officially inaugurated the new Majulai-Mlalo Vocational Secondary School in Majulai Village, Mwangoi Ward, Mlalo Division, Lushoto District. The visit also included an inspection of the school’s facilities.
Built under the government’s SEQUIP initiative, the school has already been registered and welcomed its first cohort of 89 students on January 13, 2026.
The institution is staffed with six teachers and aims to provide quality vocational education to the local community.
The project, which began on October 23, 2024, had a total budget of TZS 584.28 million. To date, TZS 581.81 million has been utilized, with TZS 2.46 million set aside for contingencies, completion of the water tank, and final payments to contractors.
Speaking during the inauguration, Dkt. Mwigulu emphasized the government’s commitment to expanding access to vocational education, saying the school would empower local youth with practical skills and improve employment opportunities in the region.
