National investment campaign lands in Rukwa to boost local opportunities

By The Respondents Reporter

The national investment promotion campaign, touring all 26 regions of mainland Tanzania, has reached Rukwa to showcase and expand local investment opportunities.

A delegation from the Tanzania Investment Centre and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), leading the campaign to shift perceptions that investment is only for foreigners, officially launched activities at the office of Rukwa Regional Commissioner, Charles Makongoro Nyerere.

TISEZA’s Investment Promotion Manager, Mr. Daudi Riganda, said the campaign in Rukwa focuses on three key goals.

First, to visit locally-owned projects to inspire residents to explore investment opportunities. Second, to hold an investment seminar where participants will learn about TISEZA incentives, registration procedures, and licensing requirements.

Third, to launch the Rukwa Investment Desk, bringing investment services closer to citizens and providing professional guidance.

Regional Commissioner Makongoro Nyerere thanked TISEZA for its efforts to promote domestic investment and highlighted the region’s potential in agriculture, fishing, and tourism.

He noted that Rukwa’s location, bordering Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), positions it as a strategic gateway for regional and international trade.

He called on residents to attend the investment seminar to seize available opportunities and contribute to both personal and regional economic growth.
