The Ministry of Health is accelerating efforts to complete the Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Referral Hospital in Mara Region.

Today, Permanent Secretary Dr. Seif Shekalaghe convened a high-level meeting with contractors to review construction progress and ensure timely completion of the hospital’s infrastructure.

The session, held at the Ministry’s Dodoma offices, brought together Deputy Permanent Secretary Mr. Ismail Rumatila, technical experts from the Ministry, and representatives from the hospital in Mara.

Contractors leading the project, Price General Investment Ltd. and NAKI Construction Limited, provided updates on ongoing work, including upgrades to the neonatal care unit (NCU) for premature babies. TEMESA is responsible for installing the hospital’s key electrical systems.

Dr. Shekalaghe underscored the critical role of the hospital in improving access to quality healthcare for Mara residents and neighboring regions.

He urged all contractors to maintain efficiency and adhere to timelines, ensuring the facility is ready to serve the community as planned.
