Tanzania, Global Fund strengthen partnership to boost health services

Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Florence Samizi, has held high-level discussions with the Global Fund to explore ways of deepening collaboration in Tanzania’s health sector. 

The meeting brought together Linden Morison, Head of African Impact Countries, and Mark Edingtori, Chief Financial Officer of the Global Fund.

The talks, also attended by the Ministry of Health’s Deputy Permanent Secretary for Medicines and Medical Supplies, Mr. Emmanuel Daud Tayari, focused on key areas of partnership. 

These include strengthening health systems, improving the availability of medicines and medical equipment, and implementing programs funded by the Global Fund to enhance healthcare delivery across the country.

Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Samizi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with development partners to ensure timely, efficient, and equitable health services for all Tanzanians. 

She emphasized that continued collaboration with the Global Fund is crucial for achieving both national and international health development targets.

“The government is determined to ensure that every Tanzanian has access to quality health services. Our partnership with the Global Fund plays a key role in making this a reality,” Dr. Samizi said.

The discussions mark a significant step in consolidating Tanzania’s health sector efforts and highlight the government’s proactive approach in leveraging international partnerships to improve the wellbeing of its citizens.
