Mineral indicative prices for February 27,2026


The Tanzania Mining Commission has released the latest mineral indicative prices for gold and silver, effective February 27, 2026, providing guidance for miners, buyers, and investors across the country.

Gold continues to hold strong in international and domestic markets. The world market price for gold stands at USD 5,203.50 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 428,179.78 per gram. 

Locally, the mineral market price is TZS 385,361.81 per gram, while buying centers across the country are paying TZS 376,798.21 per gram.

Silver prices have also been updated, with the world market price at USD 89.49 per troy ounce or TZS 7,363.85 per gram. 

Domestically, the mineral market price is TZS 6,627.47 per gram, and buying centers are paying TZS 6,480.19 per gram.

These indicative prices are crucial for standardizing transactions within Tanzania’s mining sector and ensuring that small-scale miners receive fair compensation for their minerals. 

The Mining Commission regularly reviews and publishes these rates to reflect global trends while balancing local market conditions.
