The winners of the Mieleka Open Championship are set to be announced tomorrow during the highly anticipated finals at Mwembeyanga Grounds in Dar es Salaam.

The finals will feature athletes competing across different weight categories, each aiming to claim gold, silver, and bronze medals.

In the upcoming bouts, Shija Gabriel of Ngome will face Maulid Ngubi from JKT, while Petro Malugu (Ngome) will compete against Sharifu Ngonyani (Ngome). In the 74kg category, Ally Bashe (Ngome) will take on David Seke (JKT).

Other contenders, including Shaibu June, Alen Juma, and Ashraf Mussa, will battle for a spot in the finals in their respective weight class.

In the 61kg category, Geoffrey Michael (Ngome), Shila Abel (Navy), and Robert Mlambo (Ngome) are expected to compete for a place in the final showdown.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, Andrew Kapelela, President of the Tanzania Mieleka Federation (TAWF), praised the young athletes for demonstrating remarkable skill and competitiveness, even against seasoned participants.

“With such strong performances, we expect the tournament to produce exceptional talent for future competitions,” Kapelela said.

He emphasized that the championships aim to discover, nurture, and showcase talent, providing opportunities for athletes who participate informally to register, gain recognition, and access resources offered by the Federation.
