The Deputy Attorney General, Samwel M. Maneno, officially concluded a specialized training program designed to strengthen the capacity of Government Lawyers in managing and implementing Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects.
The program, organized jointly by the Office of the Attorney General and Cybiant, a leading Malaysian consultancy firm, concluded today in Dodoma.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Maneno said the training focused on equipping Government Lawyers with modern negotiation techniques, contract analysis, procurement procedures, contract signing processes, and effective management of large-scale development projects.
“This training is a crucial tool for Government Lawyers to ensure that PPP projects deliver results while safeguarding the nation’s resources,” said Maneno.
He added that the program is key to ensuring that PPP projects align with Tanzania’s Vision 2050.
“Through this initiative, we aim to develop highly professional lawyers capable of drafting major project contracts that create a favorable investment environment in line with Vision 2050,” Hon. Maneno noted.
On behalf of the participants, Government Lawyer Mr. Ildephonce Mukandara expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Attorney General’s Office for facilitating the training, noting that it will strengthen their skills in scrutinizing PPP contracts and supporting the Government’s Vision 2050 implementation.
The training is part of the Attorney General’s Office’s ongoing strategy to continuously enhance staff capacity, ensuring they are well-prepared to execute their duties efficiently.
