Ambassador Thobias Makoba holds strategic talks with University of Dar es Salaam Leadership

Ambassador Thobias M. Makoba, Director of the Department of Strategy and Global Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, met with Prof. William A. L. Anangisye, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Dar es Salaam, at the University’s Ubungo campus.

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the Ministry and the University, particularly in research, staff capacity development, and organizing joint conferences and international events. 

The discussion also explored opportunities to expand partnerships with other African universities.

Both leaders emphasized the strategic role of Kiswahili as a tool to promote diplomatic and economic cooperation across the region.

Prof. Anangisye reaffirmed the University’s commitment to working closely with the Ministry to implement the initiatives discussed, ensuring mutual benefits for both institutions.

Ambassador Makoba expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and the University’s readiness to support the Ministry’s efforts in advancing economic diplomacy and regional cooperation.
