The Prime Minister of Tanzania, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, has praised Lushoto’s Member of Parliament and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG), Prof. Riziki Shemdoe, for his dedication to improving the lives of citizens.
Speaking to residents on February 17, 2026, during the official launch of an oxygen production plant at Lushoto District Hospital, Dr. Nchemba commended Prof. Shemdoe for using his extensive government experience to bring real development to the community.
“Prof. Shemdoe is a committed, experienced, and capable leader who knows how to get things done. He understands exactly what Lushoto needs and how to make it happen,” the Prime Minister told the crowd.
Dr. Nchemba urged residents to support their MP, saying that with their backing, Prof. Shemdoe can fulfill his vision of serving the people and delivering long-term improvements in the constituency.
He also called on local council chairpersons and councilors to help by visiting communities, listening to citizens’ concerns, and passing them on to Prof. Shemdoe.
This is important because his national responsibilities mean he cannot always meet every resident personally.
“Prof. Shemdoe’s role requires him to focus on big development projects and ensure resources reach the people on time. Council leaders should act as a bridge, bringing citizens’ issues directly to him so they can be addressed quickly,” said Dr. Nchemba.
The Prime Minister reminded Lushoto residents that, as a trusted leader appointed by President Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, Prof. Shemdoe will prioritize strategic development, while councilors will manage routine community visits and feedback.
With strong leadership and community support, the people of Lushoto are set to see more tangible improvements in health, infrastructure, and local services.
