Tanzania’s Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Ashatu Kijaji, on Tuesday received Braydon Bent, a prominent supporter of England’s Manchester City football club, who is visiting the country after years of anticipation.
Bent, known for producing social media videos in Swahili, fulfilled a long-held dream to visit Tanzania and experience its tourist attractions, including the Serengeti National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro.
The minister, accompanied by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Dr. Hassan Abbasi, welcomed Bent and said the visit reflects Tanzania’s growing appeal as a global tourism destination.
Bent, who had been invited to visit Tanzania since 2020, has interviewed several international football stars, including Neymar, Sergio Aguero, and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, and now works as a football broadcaster and presenter for Sky News.
“This has been a lifelong dream for me to come to this beautiful country. From the warm welcome I’ve received, I can already see that my journey has started very well,” Bent said, speaking alongside his father, Mark Bent.
The visit is part of broader government efforts to promote Tanzania as a leading destination for safari tourism worldwide.
