The Ministry of Energy has commended the media for their significant role in ensuring the public receives accurate and timely information on developments in the energy sector, describing journalists as key partners in national development.
Speaking in Dodoma, the Head of the Government Communication Unit at the Ministry of Energy, Ms Neema Mbuja, said close cooperation between the ministry and media outlets throughout 2025 enabled the government to clearly communicate its initiatives, major projects and reforms in the energy sector.
She said journalists and editors have been instrumental in translating technical energy issues into clear and accessible information, helping the public better understand matters related to electricity supply, fuel, natural gas and clean cooking energy services that directly affect daily life, business activities and overall economic growth.
Ms Mbuja noted that consistent media coverage has enabled wider understanding of the implementation of major energy projects across the country, strengthening transparency, accountability and public trust in government programmes.
“The media have remained a reliable bridge between the Ministry and the public. Through your work, people have gained better understanding of energy issues that affect everyday life,” she said.
Looking ahead to 2026, Ms Mbuja said the Ministry of Energy plans to further strengthen strategic communication by deepening collaboration with media stakeholders to ensure information is accurate, timely and impactful.
She thanked journalists and editors for their dedication throughout 2025, emphasizing that the energy sector remains central to economic growth and sustainable development.
The ministry, she added, will continue to work closely with the media to ensure the public remains well informed about policies, projects and priorities in the energy sector.
