The Mining Commission of Tanzania has released the latest indicative prices for gold and silver as of January 13, 2026, providing guidance to miners, investors, and trading centers across the country.
For gold, the world market price stands at USD 4,627.95 per troy ounce, equivalent to Tanzania Shillings (TZS) 367,575.60 per gram.
Domestically, the mineral market price for gold is set at TZS 330,818.04 per gram, while buying centers are advised to offer TZS 323,466.53 per gram to sellers.
Silver, meanwhile, is trading at USD 85.94 per troy ounce on the global market, equal to TZS 6,825.80 per gram. Locally, the mineral market price is TZS 6,143.22 per gram, and buying centers are recommended to offer TZS 6,006.70 per gram.
The Mining Commission emphasized that these indicative prices are designed to provide transparency and stability in Tanzania’s mineral sector.
They serve as a benchmark for both small-scale and large-scale miners, as well as traders, ensuring fair and consistent pricing in line with global market trends.
