The Minister of Finance, Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar (MP), has met with the leadership of Twiga Cement to discuss ways of strengthening the company’s investment and operations in Tanzania.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Finance offices in Treasury Square, Dodoma, and was led by Twiga Cement’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Alfonso Velez.
Ambassador Omar assured the company that the Government remains committed to improving the investment climate and supporting the growth of the industrial sector.
Mr. Velez highlighted the company’s goal of expanding investments to meet domestic market demand while creating employment opportunities for Tanzanians.
The discussions were attended by senior officials including the Acting Commissioner of the Policy Analysis Department, Dr. Remidius Ruhinduka; Assistant Commissioners from the Policy Analysis Department and Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Mr. William Mhoja and Mr. Mcha Hassan Mcha; TRA Legal Assistant Commissioner, Mr. Gabriel Kimweri; Twiga Cement Board member, Mr. Raymond Mbilinyi; Finance Director, Mr. Simon Renauld; Senior Business Manager, Engineer Danford Semwenda; and other top Ministry of Finance officials.
The meeting underlines the Government’s continued commitment to fostering private sector investment and creating a favorable environment for industrial development in Tanzania.
