Finance Minister, Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar (MP), on Wednesday led a high-level meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, headed by Minister Prof. Adolf Mkenda (MP), to deliberate on strategies for advancing Tanzania’s education sector. The session was held at the Finance Ministry’s conference hall, Treasury Square, in Dodoma.
During the meeting, Prof. Mkenda presented the government’s initiatives and plans aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of education across the country.
He highlighted key programs designed to strengthen schools, vocational training institutions, and higher learning institutions, while emphasizing innovation and human capital development as critical drivers of sector growth.
Deputy Finance Minister, Eng. Mshamu Ali Munde (MP), provided detailed clarifications on financing mechanisms, budget allocations, and sustainability measures for education projects, stressing the importance of aligning these initiatives with the government’s fiscal policies.
The discussions brought together senior officials from both ministries, including Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Technology,Wanu Hafidh Ameir (MP), Permanent Secretary Prof. Carolyne Nombo, Deputy Permanent Secretary Prof. Daniel Mushi, and Commissioner for External Finance, Mr. Rished Bade, among other top officials.
Both ministries reaffirmed their commitment to close collaboration to ensure effective implementation of programs and sustainable development of Tanzania’s education sector.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to enhance educational outcomes, strengthen accountability, and promote long-term growth in alignment with national development priorities.
