African Union Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security, Ambassador Liberatha Mulamula, has urged Tanzanians to continue upholding peace and unity as the country enters the New Year 2026.
In her New Year message, Ambassador Mulamula congratulated Tanzanians for safely crossing into the new year, describing it as a blessing from God and a moment for gratitude and reflection.
“I wish all my fellow Tanzanians a happy New Year 2026. Let us celebrate with love, peace and solidarity,” she said, emphasizing the importance of maintaining harmony within families, communities and the nation at large.
Speaking in her capacity as the African Union Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security, Ambassador Mulamula highlighted the vital role of women in promoting peace, unity and social cohesion.
She noted that women remain a strong force in nurturing brotherhood and stability, not only in Tanzania but across the African continent, stressing that unity remains a key pillar for sustainable peace.
She also encouraged continued support for national development efforts, calling for hard work and cooperation in advancing economic growth.
Ambassador Mulamula urged Tanzanians to support the government under President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan as it implements initiatives aimed at strengthening the economy and improving livelihoods.
She concluded by calling on all Tanzanians to make 2026 a year defined by peace, unity and shared progress for the nation.
