Young Africans (Yanga) are set to face Coastal Union in a high-stakes NBC Tanzania Premier League encounter on December 7 at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma, with both sides eager to secure three vital points.
Yanga head coach Pedros Goncalves told the press that his squad is ready to battle despite having limited time to prepare following their last match.
“Our preparation time was short, but the players are focused and understand the importance of this game. Some are in excellent condition, while others show signs of fatigue, yet mentally everyone is prepared to fight,” Goncalves said.
He acknowledged Coastal Union’s defensive strength, noting that the match would not be easy.
“The statistics speak for themselves. They have conceded very few goals this season, and every time we face them, it’s challenging. But we have a strong squad determined to secure the three points,” he added.
Yanga defender Offen Chikola emphasized the team’s readiness and determination.
“Our encounters with Coastal Union are always tough, but we are focused and determined to leave with a win,” Chikola said.
Coastal Union head coach Mohammed Muya also highlighted his team’s preparations, praising Yanga while vowing to challenge them strongly.
“We have great respect for Yanga—they are a quality side—but we have prepared well. If the players follow instructions and luck is on our side, our fans will be delighted,” Muya said.
Team captain Bakari Msimu added that the players’ morale is high ahead of the match, despite the challenges.
“We know it will be a tough game, but our spirit is strong. We are ready to fight for the three points. Jamhuri Stadium has only given us one point from two games this season, but we will continue to push,” Msimu said.
With both sides eager to climb the league table, tomorrow’s clash promises intense action as Yanga and Coastal Union battle for crucial points.
