Simba SC and Azam FC gear up for battle at Mkapa Stadium

Simba SC will face Azam FC in a highly anticipated Mzizima Derby tomorrow at 5:00 pm at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Speaking today in Dar es Salaam, coaches and players from both teams shared their preparations ahead of the clash.

Simba’s assistant coach, Selemani Matola, said the team’s preparations are complete and emphasized their determination to secure all three points, despite acknowledging the challenge posed by their opponents.


“The match between Simba and Azam is never easy. We recognize the quality of our rivals and their investment, but we are fully prepared to ensure we take three points,” Matola said.

He added that the team has worked extensively on converting chances into goals during training to improve their attacking efficiency.

Simba defender Shomari Kapombe noted that the squad’s morale is high, and the players are eager to continue their winning momentum in the league.


“Preparations are 90 percent complete. By tomorrow, we will be 100 percent ready to fight for three points,” Kapombe said.

On the other hand, Azam’s assistant coach, Addis Worku, stated that his team is fully prepared to face a strong squad with high-quality players.

“We are ready and have planned to fight hard to secure three points. We call on our fans to come in large numbers and support us,” Worku said.


Azam player Nassoro Saaduni echoed the sentiment, showing respect for Simba’s stature while emphasizing their own determination to win.

“We respect Simba as a top team, but we are ready for the battle for victory. We ask our fans to show up in large numbers and we promise not to let them down,” Saaduni said.

Tomorrow’s match promises to be an intense showdown as both sides vie for crucial points in the league.
