Ngorongoro shines as premium Safari destination through athletics at Shimmuta games

Athletics has put Ngorongoro in the spotlight, with local athletes securing a total of seven medals, including a standout victory in the relay races, at the recent Shimmuta Games.

The Ngorongoro team impressed spectators and competitors alike, showcasing exceptional talent and determination. 


Their performance not only celebrated sporting excellence but also promoted Ngorongoro as a premium safari destination, highlighting the region’s unique attractions beyond its wildlife and landscapes.

Speaking to the athletes, Ngorongoro Conservation Authority Commissioner, Abdul-Razaq Badru, commended their participation. 

He noted that through their dedication and discipline, the athletes not only represented Ngorongoro with pride but also helped spotlight its tourism potential.


“The athletes’ achievements reflect both their personal commitment and the broader role sports play in promoting Ngorongoro’s identity,” Commissioner Badru said, emphasizing the importance of discipline and responsibility during competitions.
