Simba Sports Club has resumed training today as the team gears up for a demanding season that includes the NBC Premier League, the CAF Champions League, and the ongoing Zanzibar Cup of Revolution.
After a short festive break spent with their families, the players are back on the field, ready to sharpen their fitness and teamwork ahead of the competitions.
Speaking on the preparations, the club’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ally, said, “The squad returned to training today, focusing on rebuilding strength and physical conditioning. Our goal is to ensure the team is fully prepared for the challenges ahead.”
Simba will kick off their Zanzibar Cup of Revolution campaign against Muembe Makumbi City. Ally added that this tournament will give the club’s new head coach, Steve Barker, a chance to assess the squad, introduce his tactical approach, and fine-tune preparations for both domestic and international fixtures.
On the upcoming transfer window, Ally explained that the club management will wait for Coach Barker’s assessment of the squad to determine positions that may need strengthening, ensuring the team remains competitive throughout the season.
“With the new coach on board and players back in full training, we are confident Simba will be ready to compete at the highest level in all competitions,” Ally concluded.
