President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, today presided over the first meeting of the Revolutionary Council under the second term of the Eighth Government, signaling the official start of new government activities.
The meeting, held at the State House in Zanzibar, brought together members of the Revolutionary Council alongside senior government officials to discuss key agendas for the upcoming term.
During the session in the Council Hall, President Mwinyi also led the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Chief of North Pemba Region, Mgeni Khatibu Yahya.
Yahya, who previously served as District Commissioner for Chakechake, Pemba, will now take on the responsibility of leading the region and supporting government initiatives at the local level.
This meeting marks a strong start for President Mwinyi’s administration, emphasizing effective governance, regional development, and strengthened leadership across Zanzibar.
