A late strike from forward Prince Dube earned Young Africans SC a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Coastal Union in an NBC Premier League clash played on December 7 at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma.

The match started with both sides showing caution, resulting in a balanced but tense first half. Despite creating a few openings, neither team managed to find the breakthrough, and they went into the break tied at 0–0.

Yanga returned for the second half with renewed energy, pushing higher and increasing the tempo of their attacks. Their pressure forced Coastal Union to defend for long spells as the hosts controlled possession.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 88th minute. Dube finished a well-coordinated team move, sending Yanga fans into celebration and securing three crucial points for the reigning champions.

The win lifts Yanga to the top of the league standings with 18 points, moving ahead of JKT Tanzania, who now sit second with 17 points.

Earlier in the day, Yanga had briefly held 16 points before the decisive goal altered their standing.

The result underlines Yanga’s strong form in this season’s title race, with the coaching staff expressing satisfaction in the team’s discipline, patience, and determination until the final whistle.
