The Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade), together with public and private institutions and key business stakeholders, has reviewed the outcomes of the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF Sabasaba) 2025 and initiated preparations for the landmark 50th edition, set to take place from June 28 to July 13, 2026.
Dr. Latifa M. Khamis, Chief Executive Officer of TanTrade, highlighted the economic significance of the 49th fair, noting that it contributed to increased business turnover, foreign exchange inflows, higher occupancy rates in hotels, and the creation of short-term employment, particularly for youth and women.
She described the event as a major platform for boosting trade and investment in Tanzania.
Dr. Khamis also urged stakeholders to provide ideas and suggestions aimed at enhancing creativity, innovation, and overall quality for the 50th “Golden Edition” of Sabasaba, underscoring the importance of collective input in making the milestone event memorable and impactful.
The assessment meeting was held at the Rashid Mfaume Kawawa Ceremonial Dome, located at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Grounds in Dar es Salaam, bringing together a wide spectrum of business representatives and partners to deliberate on strategies for a successful celebration.
