TFF Urges regions to strengthen coordination of Regional Leagues

The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has called on all regions to enhance the coordination and organization of their Regional Leagues to select representatives for the National Regional Champions League.

The appeal was made by TFF Acting Permanent Secretary, Oscar Mirambo, during the launch of the Dar es Salaam Regional League at Azam Complex Stadium in Chamazi.

The event featured an opening match between Soccer City and Bara FC, with Soccer City securing a 2–1 victory.

Speaking at the launch, Mirambo commended Dar es Salaam for setting a strong example in league management, highlighting the large number of teams that registered to participate. He noted that well-organized regional leagues give young players more competitive matches, valuable experience, and a solid platform for football development.

Mirambo also emphasized that the Dar es Salaam Regional League, which features 28 teams, is a critical pathway for emerging talent to progress to the First League, Championship, and eventually the Premier League.

Dar es Salaam Regional Football Association (DRFA) Chairman, Lameck Nyambaya, said the league promises intense competition due to the strength of teams from Kigamboni, Ilala, Temeke, and Ubungo districts. He added that prizes have been prepared for the winners, while efforts continue to attract more sponsors to support the league.
