Tanzanians have been urged to continue praying for peace, unity and stability, describing them as the foundation for the nation’s social and economic progress.

The message was delivered on Sunday by Prime Minister Dkt. Mwigulu Nchemba during a service at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania (KKKT), Kisasa Parish in Dodoma.

Speaking to worshippers, the Prime Minister emphasized that all citizens have a role to play in preserving peace.

He noted that national development, community wellbeing and routine social activities all depend on a calm and united society.

“Without peace, we cannot carry out our duties or pursue our goals effectively,” Dr. Mwigulu said. “A peaceful environment allows citizens to face challenges confidently, build their communities, and contribute to national growth.”

The service was led by Bishop Dr. Christian Ndossa of the KKKT Dodoma Diocese, who encouraged worshippers to put God first, uphold moral discipline and maintain hope even in challenging times.

He reminded attendees that faith and ethical conduct are essential for sustaining harmony in society.

Prime Minister Mwigulu attended the service with his wife, Mama Neema Mwigulu Nchemba. Other leaders present included Deputy Speaker of Parliament Daniel Sillo, Kilolo MP Ritha Kabati, Simanjiro MP James Ole Millya, Special Seats MP Ambassador Dr. Pindi Chana, Itigi MP Yohana Msita and Kalenga MP Jackson Kiswaga.

The gathering brought together government leaders, church officials and citizens, reinforcing a shared responsibility to maintain peace, which remains a vital national asset for Tanzania’s continued development and prosperity.
