Over 500 guests laud Tanzania’s peace at Arusha religious conference

By The Respondents Reporter

More than 500 participants from across Africa and beyond gathered in Arusha for a two-day conference exploring the role of religion in economic growth and development.

Visitors praised Tanzania’s peace and stability, which they witnessed during their five-day stay.

Some delegates, including visitors from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Senegal, admitted they had initially considered postponing their trip after seeing unsettling posts on social media.

“When we were preparing to come, we saw reports online about unrest and even thought of delaying our visit. But we thank God that we arrived safely and found Tanzania calm and peaceful,” said Joela Athumani, a Congolese participant.

Joela urged Tanzanians to safeguard the nation’s peace, assuring all visitors that the country remains safe and normal activities continue without disruption.

Ogi Kabongo, a resident of Kinshasa, DRC, reflected on the negative effects of instability in his country and encouraged Tanzanians to protect their peace at all costs. “Lack of peace destroys citizens’ welfare and development,” he said.

Fransis Owusu, a Senegalese national and President of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International, called on communities to continue praying for Tanzania’s stability. He stressed that peace remains a vital foundation for economic growth and national development.
