The Member of Parliament for Mtumba, Anthony Mavunde, has unveiled a major digital investment aimed at transforming the learning environment and easing education-related costs for families in the constituency.

Fulfilling his earlier pledge, Mavunde handed over modern photocopier machines to all twenty wards and provided a total of 110 laptops to Ward Education Officers, headteachers of primary schools, and heads of secondary schools.

He said the effort is part of a broader commitment to modernize teaching methods, improve access to learning materials, and reduce the financial burden of examination contributions that parents have been shouldering for years.

The MP also encouraged teachers to strengthen their unity by forming a teachers’ SACCOS, promising a contribution of TZS 20 million to help establish a strong financial base that can support their welfare and professional growth.

Speaking during the event, Chief ICT Officer David Nyangaka noted that the digital devices are already equipped with national examinations dating back to 1988, essential textbooks, simulations for science subjects, video tutorials, and comprehensive notes.

He emphasized that these resources will make teaching more effective and allow students to benefit from reliable study materials within their own schools.

Representing the City Director, Secondary Education Statistics Officer Fred Mwakisambwe commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for the remarkable improvements made in Dodoma’s education infrastructure.

He said the construction of new schools and the ongoing upgrade of facilities have created a strong foundation for quality education, urging all stakeholders to protect and make good use of the equipment provided by Mavunde.

Residents and education stakeholders have praised the initiative, saying it signals a new era for Mtumba one where digital learning becomes more accessible, teaching becomes easier, and students gain a better chance of succeeding in national examinations.
