Dodoma women to benefit from friendly loan guidelines

The Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups, in collaboration with the Dodoma Regional Office, has pledged to strengthen support for women entrepreneurs in the city by ensuring friendly policies and guidelines for business and access to finance are fully implemented.

Speaking to leaders and members of the Dodoma City Economic Empowerment Women’s Forum on November 28, 2025, Deputy Minister MaryPrisca Mahundi said these forums have become a catalyst for change, boosting women’s financial literacy, leadership skills, and confidence to start and grow economic activities.

“These women’s forums play a key role in improving the welfare and development of women. They provide a platform for networking, fostering innovation, and sharing experiences through training and dialogue,” she said.

Deputy Minister MaryPrisca added that the forums also empower women in other areas of life, including promoting national values, citizenship, patriotism, and combating gender-based violence.

However, she acknowledged that more efforts are needed to increase collaboration between the private sector, financial institutions, government, and other stakeholders.

This will ensure women have continued access to business education, market opportunities, advanced technologies, and easy financing.

“I want to assure everyone that empowering these forums benefits not only women but also strengthens families, communities, and the national economy,” she emphasized.

Addressing concerns from forum members, Deputy Permanent Secretary Amon Mpanju said the ministry would follow up at all levels to resolve challenges faced by the forums.

He urged women taking loans to repay them honestly to allow others the same opportunities.

“We will work according to the guidance of the chief guest. These forums are designed to provide accurate information to women on financial opportunities, and we will ensure no challenges go unaddressed,” Mr. Mpanju said.
