Football fans are in for a treat tomorrow as the Women’s Community Shield semifinals kick off with two exciting matches at the KMC Complex in Mwenge, Dar es Salaam.

In the first clash, Simba Queens will take on Mashujaa Queens at 1:00 p.m., followed by JKT Queens battling Yanga Princess at 4:00 p.m.

The four sides are expected to deliver thrilling football action as they fight for a spot in the final — an event that signals the official curtain-raiser for the 2025/26 Tanzania Women’s Premier League season.

Speaking ahead of the games, JKT Queens Head Coach Kessy Juma said her team is fully prepared and confident.
“Yanga is a big and strong team in women’s football, but we’ve worked hard and are ready to compete. The better-prepared side will win,” she told reporters.

Her counterpart, Yanga Princess Head Coach Edna Lema, said the encounter would be intense, given that they face last season’s Premier League champions.
“This match will be competitive and will give us a clear picture of what to expect in the new league season,” said Lema, noting that her squad has no injury worries and team morale is high.

Yanga Princess player Maimuna Khamisi echoed her coach’s words, saying, “Every player is motivated and ready to fight for a win.”

For Mashujaa Queens, Head Coach Ally Ally said they will approach their clash with Simba cautiously but with confidence.
“We respect Simba Queens; they’re a strong side. But our new signings this season have strengthened the squad, and we’re ready to compete,” he said. He added that the team will miss Princess Masika, who is nursing an injury.

Mashujaa player Sabina Emmanuel said they will follow the coach’s instructions closely, targeting a positive result.“We are determined to perform well and secure victory,” she said.

On the Simba side, Goalkeeper Coach AbdulNasir Ahmada said his team is ready to showcase their best form.“We’ve prepared well and made several tactical adjustments. Our goal is to win,” said Ahmada.Simba Queens player Esther Mayala added that the players are excited and ready to give their all on the pitch.

Meanwhile, Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Information and Communication Officer, Clifford Mario Ndimbo, confirmed that preparations for the event have been completed and entry will be free.
“All arrangements are in place. We invite women and football lovers to come in large numbers to enjoy the games,” said Ndimbo.

He added that gates will open early to allow fans easy access to the stadium.
“These matches mark the start of a new season for women’s football and will give fans a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming league,” he said.

Tomorrow’s semifinals promise to set the tone for an exciting season ahead — one that continues to showcase the growing strength and competitiveness of women’s football in Tanzania.
