The Tanzania Police Force has assured the public that security across the country remains stable and sufficient ahead of the general elections scheduled for tomorrow, October 29, 2025.

In a public statement issued from Police Headquarters in Dodoma, the Force confirmed that there are no threats to peace or safety as the nation heads to the polls.

The police emphasized that all necessary security measures have been put in place to ensure that citizens can exercise their right to vote in a safe and orderly environment.

“The Police Force continues to guarantee the public that there is enough security as we approach voting day. There is no security threat of any kind,” the statement read.

However, the Force warned the public against misinformation and the spread of false reports on social media.

According to the statement, certain groups and individuals have begun circulating misleading images and messages suggesting fabricated election results or disturbances.

The police cautioned that such content is intended to create confusion and panic among citizens.

The statement further urged the public to disregard and refrain from sharing such unverified information, noting that spreading false reports could amount to a criminal offense under Tanzanian law.

“The Police are monitoring individuals involved in spreading fake news and will take appropriate legal action. Citizens should avoid sharing misleading content, especially material that aims to tarnish the reputation of leaders or government institutions,” the Force added.

The Police Force also reminded citizens that only official government institutions are authorized to issue verified information regarding the election.

Those found spreading false reports or fabricated images could face prosecution for violating laws related to cybercrime and public order.

As the country prepares for tomorrow’s vote, the police reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and security nationwide, encouraging all eligible voters to turn out in large numbers and exercise their constitutional right.
