The Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has reaffirmed Tanzania’s commitment to strengthening ties with the Kingdom of the Netherlands as he received copies of the Letters of Credence from the newly appointed Dutch Ambassador, Ms. Marjo Johanna Jacoba Crompvoets.
The ceremony, held at the Ministry’s sub-office in Dar es Salaam, marked a renewed commitment to deepening cooperation between the two nations.
Ambassador Kombo congratulated Ms. Crompvoets on her appointment and assured her of the government’s full support during her tenure.
He commended the Netherlands for its long-standing contribution to Tanzania’s development, particularly through projects that directly benefit communities across key sectors such as infrastructure, education, health, livestock, trade, investment, and tourism.
“The Netherlands has been a reliable partner in our development journey, and we look forward to strengthening this partnership to create more opportunities for our people,” said Ambassador Kombo.
Ambassador Crompvoets expressed gratitude for the warm reception from the Tanzanian government and pledged to further advance the partnership.
She said her focus will include expanding cooperation in horticulture, especially in the production and export of vegetables, fruits, and flowers.
Tanzania and the Netherlands have enjoyed decades of diplomatic and economic cooperation, with the European nation supporting numerous initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development, trade, and investment.
