Members and stakeholders of Taekwondo across the country have been called upon to collect nomination forms to vie for leadership positions in the upcoming national elections scheduled for November 7, 2025, in Arusha.
Speaking to The Respondent Online, the Head of Public Relations and Communication at the National Sports Council (BMT), Najaha Bakari, confirmed that the nomination process is underway and will close on October 24.
She urged individuals with passion and integrity to take part in the exercise, emphasizing that the development of Taekwondo depends on having visionary leaders dedicated to promoting the sport nationally and internationally.
“We continue to encourage all members with genuine interest and commitment to come forward and seek leadership roles. This is an opportunity to ensure that Taekwondo in Tanzania is guided by skilled and devoted leaders,” she said.
According to Bakari, the nomination form for the presidential post costs TSh150,000, while forms for the vice president, secretary general, treasurer, technical director, and competition director positions cost TSh100,000 each.
She added that two seats are also open for members of the main committee, with forms priced at TSh50,000 each.
Bakari emphasized that the election process aims to strengthen the governance and growth of Taekwondo in Tanzania, ensuring that the sport continues to produce disciplined and competitive athletes.
