Simba SC has declared its ambition to reach the semifinals of this year’s CAF Champions League, aiming to build on its strong continental performances.
Speaking on the club’s preparations, Media and Communications Manager Ahmed Ally said the team is focused and well-organized to achieve its objectives.
“Our journey began in Gaborone, and after progressing to the next round, we will face Nsungizi in a crucial match on October 19 in Eswatini,” Ally said.
He added, “Last season, we reached the quarterfinals. This year, we aim to go further by defeating our opponents both home and away, advancing beyond the group stage, and keeping our Champions League ambitions alive.”
Ally stressed that Simba will give its all to ensure progression from the group stage and make a strong impact in the tournament.
Looking at domestic competitions, he recalled that Simba finished as runners-up in last season’s FA Cup. “This season, we are determined to claim the title,” he said.
On other domestic fronts, including the NBC Premier League and the CRDB FA Cup, Simba is confident it can lift all available trophies, thanks to the strength of its squad.
Ally concluded that the team is also ready for other tournaments, such as the Independence Cup, aiming to compete fiercely and secure every trophy on offer.
