The Ngorongoro Conservation Authority is stepping up preparations for the peak tourism season in Ndutu, a key area known for the annual wildebeest migration.
Commissioner of Conservation, Mr. Abdul-Razaq Badru, recently visited Ndutu to inspect improvements in tourism infrastructure.
He oversaw the construction of a new water tank with a six-meter tower, which will store 50,000 liters of water for visitors, rangers, officers, and nearby hotels and camps.
Commissioner Badru also highlighted plans to upgrade the Ndutu airstrip to accommodate the influx of tourists. During the migration season from December to March, 15 to 20 small aircraft land daily to bring visitors to the area.
During the visit, he engaged with rangers to ensure the effective implementation of conservation and security duties, including safeguarding tourists, their property, wildlife, and forest resources.
